Thirteen workers were sickened by fuel fumes this morning at the Port of Oakland and were taken to local hospitals, according to the Oakland fire department.
The workers on a Maersk ship named "Buffalo" and on a dock were suffering from stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhea, said fire Capt. Melinda Drayton. The fire department got the call about the incident about 9:30 a.m.
